Bored this summer? Then why not visit some of my favorite interactive learning websites!!
1.  www.Poetry4kids.com - Lots of interactive poetry activities from reading poems to creating your own poetry.
2. Poetry just for kids, with this site you can make your own poems. Choose one of the poems, fill in the blanks and have fun!! There is also Poetry just for kids 2.
3. www.funeducationalapps.com - Great resource of apps for different grades and content areas to make learning fun this summer!
4. www.readwritethink.org - Check out the "Parent and Afterschool Resources" that are organized by grade level for some creative ideas for reading and writing this summer.
5. www.funbrain.com and ABCYA - These websites are oldies but goodies! So many fun games and activities for every grade.
6. www.BiblioNasium.com- "Part kids' social network, part parent's guide, part teacher's tool, BiblioNasium blends technology with personal connections to create a supportive, engaging space for reading success." Looking for book recommendations from kids your age? Looking for a way to interact with other readers? Looking for a space to keep track of your reading - what you've read and whoat you want to read in the future? BiblioNasium is your place!
7. www.starfall.com- Great website for beginning readers of all ages! Engaging stories and games.
8. www.Wonderopolis.org - Keep your inquisitive mind going this summer with the daily Wonder of the Day! There is an interesting wondering question every day, a short article (and sometimes video) that answers the question, and an opportunity to leave a comment with your own thoughts. Simply Wonderful!
9. NGA kids Art Zone- Learn about famous art and artists. Make a mobile, animated seascape, a symmetrical design using a grid pattern on Wallovers, a collage or try out Photo Op at the National Gallery of Art website.
10. National Museum of African Art- Listen to African music while you learn about the African culture. The National Museum of African Art has numerous activities including a map and clothing design on their website.
11. Lights, Camera, Color! - Lots of crafts, games and activities on Crayola's website.
12. The Getty Museum - The Getty Museum allows you to solve a puzzle, play detective or test your memory.
13. Storybird.com - Write and illustrate a story online. You can read stories by other people and share your own.
14. Mr. Picassohead- Create a cubist face using the techniques of Picasso. Save, share, and email your images.
15. 3-D Architect- Are you a budding architect? Frank Lloyd Wright teaches you about the purpose and design of architecture. You must install their free unity software to design the images in 3-d. 
16. Myths and legends Story Creation-  Build images and write a story. You can upload your own photos into the story and record yourself telling the story. Very Cool!!
17. Dance Mat Typing- Keep your keyboarding skills up to date with Dance Mat Typing!
18. Tux Paint- Create your own art with this user friendly paint studio!
