Author Study Shel Silverstein

An author study is a unit lesson that gives students the opportunity to dive deeply into an author's life and body of work. Whether individually, in small groups, or as a class, students can: • Critically evaluate an author's themes, characters, and writing style. The point of an author study is to expose the students to a person who writes books for a living. Students will start to understand what it means to be an author.
